What is Not Commercial Photography?

Non-commercial photography encompasses a wide range of activities, from staged engagement and wedding photos to family portraits, graduation and class photos, student projects, and more. These images are not intended to advertise a product or service, but rather to capture a moment in time. Organizations may use archival photographs for commercial purposes, as they are not associated with a logo or brand and can be digitally altered to fit the needs of the publication. When I first started out in photography, I assumed that commercial photography was taking pictures in commercial settings (such as offices or workplaces) and that street photography was taking pictures of streets.

However, the purpose of commercial photography is to capture an image of the product in the best possible light. It's important to note that while someone may be an expert photographer, they may not necessarily be an expert in technology or knowledgeable about the latest news and rumors regarding equipment.
